Napoli Virtuosa City Tours
Each Napoli Virtuosa city tour includes off-the-beaten path circuits, ones you won’t find in your typical Naples Italy itinerary.
The Napoli Virtuosa city tours were designed to pay tribute to the city of Naples by including unique and unexplored areas of this fascinating city; to give everyone the chance to experience first-hand what some of the millenarian history of Naples and its countless traditions, legends and customs entail.
In addition to visiting hidden gems of the city, when on a Napoli Virtuosa city tour you will also get to experience Neapolitan hospitality like a true local by having lunch at one of the privately-owned Neapolitan noble apartments overlooking the city. You can expect to taste local cuisine, while surrounded by intriguing gardens and breathtaking views from some of the apartments’ panoramic terraces.

Itinerary
The Vomero hill area, once a holiday resort spot, today a residential area.
The tour takes you to the Vomero hill area and includes a Funicular ride, the visit of S. Elmo and S. Martino, and a stop in an apartment with a 365° panoramic view overlooking Naples.
This Napoli Virtuosa city tour circuit takes you to Vomero, today a residential area with massive buildings, but once a holiday resort area with innumerable beautiful villas and gardens.
The Vomero hill area was once connected with the city below by stairs that over time turned into descents to facilitate the viability of carriages and then cars; among the existing ones, there is the Salita of Pedametina (from pedemontanus, to the foot of the hill).
The Salita of Pedametina is characterized by 414 steps, and was built in the 14th century as a link between the Charterhouse (Carthusian Monastery) of San Martino and the Historic Center of Naples; and it is where you can admire the panorama of the Gulf of Naples, as well as the vegetable gardens and gardens of the Charterhouse.
The Castle of St. Elmo and the Charterhouse of San Martino are the two monuments that characterize Vomero from a historic cultural artistic aspect and an environmental one, the latter aspect proven by the success of the harvesting that takes place at the Charterhouse of San Martino. The museum, however, collects the memories of the city, and with its gardens and terraces becomes the scenery (for two days) for the delicious biological grapes of the ancient "cordicella" and "catalanesca" stumps during harvest season in the month of September.
The tour ends with lunch in a neighborhood home. After lunch, return to the city center of Naples.
